The zine of our previously unpublished colour street photos of Vancouver is now available in the shop https://marcdavenant.com/product/vancouver-chromes-zine/

Orders received before midnight (your time) on Thursday 18 June 2026 will receive a 6 x 4″ print from the series which will be stamped on the back. All of these prints have been produced personally by Davenant on the same printer which was used for the Outsiders and Rebellion! exhibitions.

Chromes challenges the ‘chocolate box tourism’ view of Vancouver which it presents to the world, and looks behind that to the reality of a city which contains the wealthiest and poorest districts in Canada within five minutes of each other.

Single Room Occupancy hotels, dive bars, alleys which look like scenes from a 1970s US crime drama, “the great shipwreck of humanity.” Chromes provides a different perspective on a city which regularly ranks as one of the best cities in the world for quality of life.

I hope you enjoy the zine as much as we enjoyed creating it.
